'LUCKY SEVEN' mixed media on canvas  40" x 30", 2011
"A deep  significance was attached to numbers
in hoary antiquity."
                     H. P. Blavatsky

"Lucky Seven"  was created to start my new
series of
paintings on NUMEROLOGY.
Numbers signify in mathematical language and
possess a spiritual meaning which I feelt a call to
paint  to share my inner dialogue with my
daring  viewer.
The number SEVEN represents "spiritual
perfection." In Hebrew, seven (shevah) comes
from
the root word savah, which means "to be full or
satisfied. "And they all ate and were satisfied,
and they
picked up what was left over of the broken
pieces, seven large baskets full." King James Bible

The astronomical origin of this number is
established beyond any doubt...
The Egyptians had seven original and higher
gods;
the Phœnicians seven kabiris; the Persians, seven
sacred horses of Mithra; the Parsees, seven angels
opposed by seven demons, and seven celestial
abodes paralleled by seven lower regions. To
represent the more clearly this idea in its concrete
form, the seven gods were often represented as
one
seven-headed deity. The whole heaven was
subjected
to the seven planets; hence, in nearly all the
religious systems we find seven heavens."
